| Due Bianco 2008 (Texas) |
$9.95 |
|
A great wine just to have around, it's a blend of Chenin Blanc, from the Texas High Plains, and estate Chardonnay. The wine has a crisp & fruity intensity, expressing crisp summer pear with tropical fruit overtones hinting pineapple. |
| Pinot Grigio 2007 (Texas Hill Country) |
$14.95 |
|
None better at any price! Fruit from Texas Hills Vineyard & Drew Tallent Vineyard, both in the Texas Hill Country, the Pinot Grigio is vibrant and refreshing with a silky mouth feel, holding its flavor throughout the taste; flavors of honey dew melon and pear with a finish of tropical fruit influence of kiwi with just a hint of mango. |
| Sauvignon Blanc 2007 (Shenandoah Valley California) |
$15.95 |
|
We brought this excellent wine, 76% Sauvignon Blanc and 24% Semillon, from one of our favorite wineries in California. We think it's one of the bet Sauvignon Blanc we've tasted and we wanted to share! Citrus grapefruit and exotic spicy aromas lead to a balance of flavors of citrus, melon, herbs and tropical fruit. Part of the wine was barrel fermented "sur lie" and aged to add a rich, velvety texture and a lingering finish. |
| Roussanne 2007 (Texas High Plains) |
$19.95 |
|
A new grape for us. . .Roussanne, a grape known primarily from the southern Rhone valley of France, it makes a wine rich and complex, with distinct honey, floral and apricot flavors. The wine tends to age well and holds its acid allowing it to be enjoyed for years after bottling. Often blended with Marsanne or Viognier, we have chosen to make a wine on its own merit and blend it with nothing. The berry is distinguished by a russet color when ripe – roux is French for the reddish brown color russet, and is probably the root for the variety's name. The aroma of Roussanne is often reminiscent of a flowery herbal tea, and in warm climates (we do qualify), it produces wines of richness, with flavors of honey and pear, and full body. |
Dry Rosé Wines (Vino Rosato) |
|
| Rosato di Sangiovese 2007 (Estate) |
$12.95 |
|
When you are in the Mediterranean area you drink a lot of DRY rosé wines. Ours, made with Sangiovese grapes is dry, yet fruity, and a perfect wine with our Texas foods, like Bar-B-Q and even hamburgers!! Taste raspberry, strawberry & cherry! |
| Merlot 2005 (Estate) |
$12.95 |
|
Smooth and rich with a great taste, the American oak provides a little spiciness and bottle aging leads to smooth perfection. A wine with enough balance to serve with your finest meal, yet enough elegance to stand alone in a glass to enjoy. Taste plum jam with a hint of spice. |
| Cinque Vino Rosso 2004 (Texas Hill Country) |
$12.95 |
|
Five Red Wines, an artistic blend of red wines including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Ruby Cabernet, Sangiovese, and Syrah. Taste berries (blackberry, raspberry, blueberry & loganberry) with a peppery finish. Notice the soft tannins and long finish! A great cheese wine! |
| Syrah 2005* (Texas Hill Country) |
$13.95 |
|
Our Syrah is a classic syrah done in the French-style that absolutely begs for beef. Syrah is a grape from the Rhone valley of France (Australians call it Shiraz – same grape) that does really well in the Texas Hill Country. The art is from Gary's cousin and reflects Texas with an abstract star. This great wine has been in the bottle for over two years, with very soft tannins and the taste of dark berries and spice, with a black pepper finish!
*Artist Series label number 2!
This wine was honored as "Excellent" by Time Magazine (on-line) author Joel Stein. |
| Syrah 2007* (Texas Hill Country) |
$19.95 |
|
Our Syrah is a classic syrah that is "RTD" (ready to drink). We wanted a great wine to accompany the art that appears on our label, the third in our "artist series". Benini's creation called StarTime graces the label and the wine matches the elegance by giving layers of flavor like Benini brush-strokes on canvas. This great wine is very "food friendly" - soft tannins and the taste of dark berries and spice, and just a hint of black pepper at the finish. This would be a good investment just to set on a shelf to enjoy the art, but drinking it will be a pleasure too!
*Artist Series label number 3! |
| Syrah 2006* (Texas Hill Country) |
$75.00 |
|
Great Wine! This is one of the finest wines we've made in the 12 years we've been making wine
and is worthy of the price. Syrah is one of the noblest black varieties and this "noble grape" is really "showing off" its nobility in this wine! Silky and rich with the flavors of dark berries like loganberry and boysenberry with rich "jammy" plum-like finish! Taste the full body and rich flavors produced with the "soft" tannins of a mature wine. This wine will age well with its fine structure.
*Artist Series label number 4! |
| Toro de Tejas 2007 (Texas High Plains) |
$25.00 |
|
When we visited northern Spain in 2007, we saw huge silhouettes of bulls that you could see for miles from the highway, so when we created our Tempranillo (the noble grape of Spain) wine we decided to name it the "Bull of Texas" or TORO de TEJAS and place a copy of the silhouette on our traditional label. We believe Tempranillo will continue to have a positive impact on the production of Texas wines because the grape does so well here. Our approach to making the Tempranillo wine is to blend a small amount of another grape that does well here, Cabernet Sauvignon, and in the 2007 vintage we actually "field blended", or fermented them together. Taste the full body and rich flavors produced, the tannins are soft enough to allow you to enjoy with the flavor of dark berries and plum, and just a hint of spice. |
"Kick Butt" Cabs (Vino "Kick Butt" Rosso) |
|
| Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 (Texas Hill Country) |
$14.95 |
|
Drew Tallent Vineyard, just north of Mason, produced these grapes from 5-year old vines. Drew, a peanut farmer, decided to grow grapes and the farming experience shows in the quality of grapes. The wine produced is "fruit forward" with the taste of blackberry, black cherry, & a hint of spice at the finish. Tasting good right now! |
| Kick Butt Cab 2006 (Texas Hill Country) |
$17.50 |
|
100% Cabernet Sauvignon from two different Hill Country vineyards, 60% from Texas Hills Vineyard & 40% from Drew Tallent Vineyard, both in the Texas Hill Country appellation. Lots of berry flavors; blackberry, black cherry, and a bit of loganberry with a spicy finish from the American oak. This little wine has been in the bottle for a couple of years and has been "chomping at the bit" to get out of the chute, very tasty!
Winner of "People's Choice" as BEST WINE at Dripping with Taste Food and Wine Festival - Dripping Springs, Texas (September 12, 2009)!
2nd Place "People's Choice" out of 16 Cab's at the 23rd Annual Grapefest - Grapevine, Texas (September 17-20, 2009)! |
| Kick Butt Cab 2007 (Texas High Plains - Newsom Vineyard) |
$25.00 |
|
The younger brother of the original "Kick Butt Cab"!
Sometimes saying Cabernet Sauvignon just isn't enough when it's this good! Our commitment to excellent Cabernet continues with this Kick Butt Cab, made from grapes from 22-year old vines from Newsom vineyard. When you swirl the glass and put your nose toward the wine you immediately "Get your guns up" with the taste of blackberry jam, then you "Gig'em" with the spiciness from the American oak. Then you "Hook'em" with the rich and supple depth and long finish with subtle tannins and rich color & body and "Sic'Em" to the check-out counter & take some home. |
| Moscato 2006 (Texas High Plains) |
$12.95 |
|
Finally, we have MOSCATO again! The Muscat Blanc grape is grown all over the world and everyone has a unique version of the wine produced. Ours is pleasantly sweet, (less than 5% Residual Sugar) and nicely balanced, with the smooth fruity and spicy presentation and a hint of guava and tropical fruit at the finish. |
| Volare 2007 (Estate) |
$12.95 |
|
"Volare" means to fly in Italian. Our Volare is a sweetheart of a red wine, with a hint of sweetness; we hope it warms your spirit as it warms your heart with joy, and maybe even a touch of amore!" Our first "sweet red" table wine has just a little sweetness with rich flavors, great with food, especially spicy foods and Bar-B-Q. It is a nice wine to share with friends. |
| Orange Moscato 2005 (Texas High Plains - Newsom Vineyard) |
$17.50 |
|
One of the most amazing wines in Texas! The Orange Muscat grape has a natural orange zest essence that presents itself in the wine. Pleasantly sweet, (less than 5% Residual Sugar); nicely balanced; with an alcohol level of 14% (highest alcohol level we've ever done with the Orange Moscato) this wine has a smooth orange zest presentation with just a hint of peach and tropical fruit. Perfect with dark chocolate, raspberries, and/or citrus! Great finish to a fine meal! |
| Port Rubino 2006 (Texas Hill Country) - 500 ml |
$19.95 |
|
Rubino is Italian for RUBY. Ruby ports are aged just a short time in oak and are bottled young & fiery, ours is a "true port" fermented from Merlot grown in our vineyard and Zinfandel from Spicewood Vineyard. Our PORT Rubino has 18.5% alcohol & 9.0% Residual Sugar, made into a rich wine spending a year with American Oak (to "marry" to the grape spirits to fortify). Great with dark chocolate, roasted walnuts, and stilton cheese. |
